ISLAND WOMAN: ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Anchors

Richard Sessions is a fourth generation Californian who grew up in the San Joaquin Valley. After a stint as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy, he settled in Los Angeles and obtained masters degrees from U.S.C. and U.C.L.A. He pursued a career in research administration at universities in California and Oregon.

Richard Sessions

An avid sailor, Sessions has cruised in the Caribbean, sailed to Hawaii, and visited all of southern California's offshore islands. In part from these adventures he became fascinated with the history and lore of native societies and the European exploration and settlement of the New World. He wrote Island Woman to highlight an epochal period of west coast history that is not well known.

HIS NEXT BOOK

The author has recently completed a manuscript that he calls an academic medical thriller. While this novel involves anthropology and philosophy, its primary focus is modern human genetics. In writing this story Sessions drew heavily on his ten years' experience at a brain research institute. As reader Katie Riley states: "Sessions uses an amazing blend of human relationship dynamics and twists of science to plunge you into a captivating world of new possibilities."
